New Twitter Homepage: It's all about search
On July 28th, 2009 Twitter unveiled their new homepage. At first glance one this is for sure, it’s all about search!
If you are signed into your twitter account you will need to sign out to see the new twitter homepage. Pushing the homepage to a search play was simply the thing to do. Twitter was always more about what people are talking about anyway. Twitter is really the pulse of the world.
The new homepage does just that, it gives you a pulse on what people are talking about. You can search on a specific topic. i.e. a movie to see what people who just came out of the theater are saying to see if it’s any good. Another useful spotlight of the homepage is popular topics sorted by the minute, day & week.
Here is another cool feature we discovered. When you click on a trending topic it takes you to a results page. Notice on some trending topics it gives you a explanation why the topic is trending which is very cool indeed.
