The Royal Opera House in London is bringing Twitter to the stage, to reach out and get people interested and involved in opera. They are working with the Twitterverse to create an opera story line, set to original music by composer Helen Porter. They are encouraging twitter users to get creative and help them tell the story via 140 characters.
Users can tweet @youropera as often as they like. Thus far 40 people have helped with the story. The untitled opera features wacky storylines, inspired by tweets. Expect to see a man kidnapped by birds, a talking ginger cat and woman biochemist. But with so many people contributing you never no how the storyline will evolve. So expect the unexpected. It will be sung by two performers and performed for all the public to see at the Royal Opera House on Sept. 5-6. If you want to be a part of Twitters first opera you have until Sept. 3 to tweet your storyline ideas.
