Launch of Postlings by Etsy Founders: Like Ping.fm for Business

postlingLike they say in business “Time is Money”, especially today when businesses are hopping on the social media bandwagon. But updating all your social accounts like Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Wordpress, Blogger can be quite a task if done manually. If only there was an easier & simpler way for businesses to publish content in a single click. Well, to answer the call Etsy founders have created Postling, a tool for small businesses to market, listen and respond to their customers using social media. Similar to Ping.fm, Postling keeps it simple by allowing you to post to your company blog, Twitter, Flickr and other social sites. You can create, edit and build blog post & once published you can update your social networks in a snap.  Postling cost $9 a month, but there is a 30 day free trial.

Their invention the webcycle , a rigged exercise bike, allows you to lose weight while browsing the Internet. The bike combines peddle power to determine how fast your internet connection will be. Not much peddle power is required to read text, however if streaming youtube video, you may have to break a sweat. So, internet addicts no need to pry your eyes from the computer screen or your fingers from the keys, surf the net & get fit at the same time. Click the  video to see the webcycle in action. Scribd.com Goes Social!

scribdlogoScribd.com, the self-publishing website for authors wants to blend Twitter and Facebook features to make reading & writing more social. Some of the neat features will include: Homepage with live updates from other subscribers and ability to publish new books & documents with just a few clicks. Scribd wants to become the world’s largest book club with its virtual bookshelf & five star rating system for reviews.  Users can subscribe to other members writing & favorite reading lists, discover new content,  & search for authors with similar literary interest. According to Trip Adler the sites co-founder, Scribd gets about 40 million unique visitors each month, since the friend follow subscription launched 2 million people have used it. Scribd is currently working on an iphone app for readers  & users on the go.
