When you blog on wordpress.com & create a post it will now display a Get a short link button.

From there you can copy & paste the short link url & share on any of your social sites like twitter or facebook.

Currently this feature is not available for self hosted wordpress blogs, but it is said to be in the pipeline. Until then you can use bit.ly like we do.
