iPhone Now #1 Camera on Flickr

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

Picture 150The iphone has dethroned high resolution canon & nikon cameras to take the top spot as the most popular camera on flickr.

For the longest time the top spot went to the Canon Digital Rebel.
So does this mean people don’t like high resolution photos?

Picture 152I don’t think so, I think it just shows that we’re in an ever increasing mobile world & with the iphone you always have a camera in your pocket to take that split second shot.

It is also easy to upload directly from your phone to flickr.

iphones are easy to snap shots with, but my heart has a soft spot for a well composted high res photo. What do you think? Comment below with What camera you use to take most of your photo’s?

Church on your iPhone: Mars Hill new iPhone App.

Monday, August 17th, 2009

Picture 140Mars Hill Church recently released their iphone app.  By far this is one of the more interesting uses of an iphone app we have seen lately.

We downloaded the free app & checked it out, Not to mention beautifully designed, the app is very fluid to navigate & is packed with features.

Picture 141The app allows you to listen to sermons audio or video, stream mars hill music, share links with your friends & get blog updates. The app acts as a hub. They hope you will use the app on your daily commute, bike rides, walks, and more.

The church stated that God has often used technological advancement to spread the Gospel through the church, in the time of paul it was the romans’ systems of roads, today, it’s Media & the iPhone.

TomTom for iPhone released

Monday, August 17th, 2009

Picture 137TomTom GPS is now available on the iPhone for New Zealand, Australia, Western Europe,  UK, US & Canada

When we first heard this story we really wondered how this will match up to stand alone GPS systems. From initial reports it fairs very well. Check out this test video.

There are a few setbacks…It does cost $100 for the iphone App, and if you do get a call it pauses the application. So for those long drives no calls? & what about listening to music?

Picture 139They do sell an in car kit, but for the price of the app & the kit you are getting pretty close to the price of a reg. gps unit. Weigh in & let us know what you think?

Ustream Launches New iPhone Video Recording App

Ustream Launches New iPhone Video Recording App

Ustream, a platform for live video streaming, has a new & free iphone app. The Ustream Recorder allows you to send video from your iPhone to the web.  Although Ustream is known for its live video, don’t get to excited. The app does have a set back, you can’t send live video from your iphone to the web.
No need to send hate tweets and emails to the Ustream team. Apple just doesn’t currently allow apps to do that in the App Store, Oh well. So, instead this app records and allows you to upload to the web. With Ustream Recorder you can share your pre-recorded videos to Ustream, Twitter, Youtube, Facebook. The app even promises high-quality video and allows you to edit and manage videos already on Ustream even if they weren’t recorded with the iphone. You simply download them to edit.

The new Ustream Recorder app is only for the new iphone 3Gs
